Sustainable outdoor services!

Finland, Naturally Experiences has been certified for it's sustainable operations since 2021.

We are certified with

"Green Activities is a sustainability program and certificate especially designed for activity program operators. Green Activities is best suited to establishments that offer outdoor activities, and it is the only sustainability certificate in the Nordic countries that includes criteria for ensuring tourism animal welfare."

"Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) programme, developed by Visit Finland, helps travel professionals to make more sustainable choices when creating travel itineraries to Finland. The label is a definitive symbol of commitment towards sustainable practices and principles."

Some of our sustainable operational choices:

  • We always prefer using existing outdoor infra.

  • Minimized waste.

  • Close relations with reagional companies and co-op with small companies.

  • Year-round and seasonally appropriate service production.

  • We prefer repairing or buying second hand instead of buying everything new.

Some of our achivements from recent year:

  • We took a part in Lupin Battle, an event created to take action against invasive species in Finland. This event focused on a singel plant called larged-leaved lupin which has spread widely across Southern Finland. This plant takes room from native plants and does not attract pollinators or offer nectar as much as the native plants. It needs hard and long lasting work to repel this invasive species.

  • An accessible Wine in the Woods -experience - we piloted an accessible Wine in the Woods in 2023. We had one customer with an electric wheel chair to attend the service. The whole experience was customized so that it was not just accessible in fysical sense but in every aspect.

  • We no longer use bottled water in our activities or other services like bonfire dinners. We collaborate with Finnish company called My Soda. They make sustainable sparkling water makers from wood composite. Finland has the best tap water in the world and we want to encourage people to use tap water instead of bottled water.

Some goals for next year:

  • Continue our work in Lupin Battle

  • Better our sustainability communication and create a 'accommodation info' to our Skytent EcoCamp Nuuksio with an important information about sustainability and eco-responsibility in the Nuuksio region.

Our ultimate aim is to provide services that benefit both people and the planet, promoting sustainability and respect for nature. We want to offer people the chance to experience Finland’s natural beauty at its finest, while also encouraging them to care for it. Just as nature nurtures us, we believe it's our responsibility to protect and preserve it in return.
